Rough Riders Mathias Gauer 1864 and (Mathias) Leo Gauer 1902 showing the mules on the Gauer home place located in East Lake Lillian Township, on Section 15, along the North side of MN Hwy 7 and 3.5 miles east of Lake Lillian, MN in 1917 or 1918.
They also had horses for field work. General Purpose Tractors were not yet in common use.
We think that the young lady on the mule was Hilda Anderstrom.
